Michael A. Womack, Esq. is a former Senior HR Executive with ten years of comprehensive leadership experience and a successful track record of aligning HR strategy with organizational goals and objectives for growth, delivering excellent customer service and driving high employee engagement. He was also a successful employment law partner with a national law firm delivering employment law results and solutions for complex legal and labor matters through trial work, consulting and training.
Mr. Womack was formerly the Senior Vice President of Human Resources at AutoZone, Inc. in Memphis, Tennessee (AZO) and was responsible for all human resources functions including: recruiting, talent development, succession planning, employment practices, turnover, retention, engagement, diversity and benefits (compensation, health and welfare plans, defined contribution, 401k plans and executive compensation).
Prior to AutoZone, Mr. Womack was the Vice President of Human Resources at Cintas Corporation in Mason, Ohio (CTAS) where he had all responsibilities of human resources like the functions at AutoZone. Mr. Womack also served as Vice President and Deputy General Counsel, Labor and Employment for Cintas prior to transitioning to Human Resources.
Mr. Womack began his professional career as a management side employment attorney in Columbus, Ohio. His last role in private practice was a partner at Littler Mendelson, one of the largest labor and employment law firms in the United States. Mr. Womack achieved Ohio Super Lawyer recognition from 2006 to 2008.
Mr. Womack was a member of the United States Marine Corps Reserve from 1986 to 1994 and was honorably discharged as a First Lieutenant. Mr. Womack grew up overseas and resided in Canada, Belgium, Haiti, Egypt and Germany.
Mr. Womack is a member of the American and Ohio State Bar Associations. Mr. Womack was previously a Board Member for United Way of the Mid-South and served as a Governing Body Chair for Evanta’s Chief Human Resources Officer Leadership Summit. He received his law degree from The Ohio State University College of Law, has Bachelor of Science degrees in Political Science and Economics from Central Michigan University and completed the Society of Human Resources certification course at Miami University. He is a former member of the Retail Industry Leadership Association HR Leadeship team.
